Last report she was doing splendidly. Mrs. A1 Endres is home with peneumonia, but is showing signs of improvement each day. Mr. Gary Fillible, who is with the U. S. Navy called his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fillible, from the Phillipines Saturday evening, it was a good connec tion and a pleasant surprise. The W. H. S. graduation was Held Sunday on the Glen Larking Field and was well attended and enjoyed. The weather was lovely. Everyone in the class looked rad iant and the speaker, Rep. Gor don MacPherson, gave a very interesting and inspiring mes sage. We look with pride upon him (an alumnus), and the class of ’73. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to have a few words with Gordon’s wife Jeanette, and his mother, Mrs. Ted Vaughn, the former Louise MacPherson who taught some o f, my family and other Willamina citizens. Miss Kathy Adams, grand daughter of M r . and Mrs. “ Jill” Adorns spent a few days visiting Darris and attended graduation exercises Sunday. She returned to her home in Crescent City, California Monday as she will graduate from her high school this Friday. Miss Kim Barker planned to go home with her. Mrs. Berniece Ewell attended high school graduation in Tilla mook Friday evening. Her grand daughter Bonnie Lee Wohl, daughter of Beverly Wohl, gradu ated. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Halverson are proud to announce the birth of new little son, born May 26 at the Dallas hospital. He weigh ed 7 lb. 8 oz. and was named Brenton Kyle. He joins a little brother, 2 1/2 years old. His mother was the former Becky Black of Willamina. Grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Vern Black, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Stewart of Willamina, and Mr. Lon Halverson of Glendale, Calif. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Parks of Monmouth, Mrs. Della Davis of Burbank, Calif, and Mrs. Myrtle Halverson of Glendale, Calif. In honor of Miss Lori Bainter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bainter, a surprise lingerie shower was given by Mrs. Ralph Gast and Peggy Bainter on May 30. Lori is the bride-elect of John Koivu. A graduation party was held at Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bainter’s home on Sunday honoring the twin daughters (Peg and Pam) of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bainter. Surprise visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P res Parton on Saturday were Mr. Clare Cannon and Mrs. Alice Cannon of Walla Walla, Wash. It had been rhany years since Mrs. Parton had seen them. Mrs. A1 Endris and Mrs. K. E. Shetterly made a business trip to Salem on Tuesday. Many people keep asking “ WHEN will the Children’s Park materialize? Visiting at the home of' Mr. and Mrs. Burrough’s of the Hill crest area, recently were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Baker and Mrs. May Erickson of Los Angeles. They are relatives of Mrs. Bur- rough. Mrs. Burrough had just returned from a visit with her parents in Missouri. She and her three brothers were all there for a dinner and get-to-gether to honor her mother, Mother’s Day. Both of her parents are in their 90’s. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brainard and daughter Barbara returned home Wednesday evening from a trip to the East Coast. Mr. and Mrs. Brainard flew to Bos ton where they met their daugh ter, Barbara who had been attend ing college there this school year. From there they went on to Georgia and visited their daughter Janet, husband and daughter. They had a very in teresting and enjoyable trip and saw many new and different sights. Janet Simonson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Simonson, Rt. 1, Sheridan, a 1973 graduate of Sheridan high school, will be leaving July 1 for missionary work in Hawaii. She will be serving a minimum of two years with the World, Resort Chaplaincies, whose headquarters are in Honolulu. Dick Mishler was singled out for an unexpected honor last week. He learned on Tuesday that he is a co-coach for the National Junior Olympics to be held this summer in Cheyenne, Wyoming, August 8 9 and 10. Dick has been coaching boxing for only three years, ana didn’t expect to get so far so fast. The other co-coach is Ed Millburger of Portland. The United Methodist churches in Sheridan and Willamina will have a new pastor on Sunday, June 17. He is the Rev. Ben jamin L. Owre and comes from Woodland church in Portland. The Rev. Queen Neppie’s princesses were Mrs. Elizabeth T erry and Mrs. Zelma Thomson. The lovely embroidered organdy gown worn by Queen Neppie was made by Ruth Rhodes in Canada over 60 years ago.
