I itit/ur O pfm rluuilie» Itere But just look at the things we can do belter: Where, for instance, is there a better place for textile production, for soft wood products, for fine specialty food products, company has long realized that its own opportunities for growth come through the growth o f such industries, and we are especially pleased that our area now contains many fine industrial pay-rolls which provide livelihoods for thousands of our customers, and whose taxes and tor research or laboratory development or for the skilled professions. These arc but a lew o f the many commercial ill Ihisiiifss Star!» Sm all But while we glory in these splendid industries, let us not overlook the Little Industry— the shop with one or two or halt a dozen men. I or practically every great industry today started from just such humble beginnings. Who can say that the Little Business with a man or two with a lathe or sewing machine or a laboratory will not enterprises. I here are a thousand things that Oregon and Oregonians can do as well or better than they can be done elsewhere. We have some handicaps, such as dis- opportunities in which Oregon abounds. Let us look well to the Little Business. A large number o f Little Businesses equals a Big Business, and every one o f them might themselves grow into Big Business within just a few years. We have seen it happen before, and we will sec it happen again. It is through such multiplication and growth that our community will grow ever greater along the pattern lines ail o f us wish Io sec rctibzed.
