In th« firs t plac«-, nobody that we’ve talked to doubts that they would grow in this m ild, warm clim ate In fact, we’ve seen some growing here— just like in Southern C alifornia. We would e x pect Brookings native s to wear B< rmuda shorts to go with the new CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK undoubtedly the Cham ber of Com m erce is on the right track when they announced that they would call a general meeting with i e p ie se n ta th e s trom all the civic and fratern al organizations in th« are a, in an endeavor to find out what it is that the people want th e ir Cham ber to accom plish. We know that a gtxxl many well meaning people are content to n hack with a pointed finger, and ask What is the Cham btr do- in ,? ” . Yet, it becomes very obvious that in a sm all community lik« this finger pointing becom es obnoxious. If you think that the Cham ber should be doing something in p articu lar--w h y don’t you atten.1 a n u t ting, o r take on« of the d ire c to rs in tow, and explain it ’ the n.
