Paid Manager Is Possibility The Brookings-Harbor C ham ber of Com m erce board of directors discussed the possibility of hiring a full tim e paid secretary-m anager of the C ham ber of Com m erce here at th eir reg u lar m eeting last week. It was generally agreed th at a m an be hired, although th e board d id n ’t take any official action, 227 pending investigation of a budget, 213 and the m eans of raising funds 203 to pay for the man. One estim ate of cost for a paid secretarv-m ana- er would be around $6,000 a year. The directors also spent an hour and a half discussing the highw ay 101 bond issue, now up before legislative com mittees. Thornton report'd that replies have been com ing back on the average of 4 a day, and that most of the legislators offer their support— or at least they say they w ill give the m atter their consid eration.
