of Com m erce board of directors
discussed the possibility of hiring
a full tim e paid secretary-m anager
of the C ham ber of Com m erce here
at th eir reg u lar m eeting last week.
It was generally agreed th at a
m an be hired, although th e board
d id n ’t take any official action,
227 pending investigation of a budget,
213 and the m eans of raising funds
203 to pay for the man. One estim ate
of cost for a paid secretarv-m ana-
er would be around $6,000 a year.
The directors also spent an hour
and a half discussing the highw ay
101 bond issue, now up before
legislative com mittees. They form ­
ulated a plan of action, and are
in the process of preparing a brief
to present to the S tate S enate on
th e m atter.
