Recently installed in the Cliff House kitchen was a new V ulcan broiler, under G erio u x ’s direction. It is the only one of its kind in this p art of the country. His specialty is sauces and soup and meats. However, it was pointed out by the Commission, that th ere are a couple of factors which may cause them to miss this target date. But. notw ithstanding, they do not ex pect the call for bids to be very long delayed. T here will be a short period betw een the call for bids and the d ate of opening bids. Construction on the project should sta rt very shortly after the date for opening the bids, it was believed by the group. Local Post Office Sets New Hours Postm aster Bill Thom pson a n nounced th at the window hours of the Brookings postoffice would be changed because of a lopped post- office budget. He said th a t i n o rd er to cut down clerk hours, the windows would be open from 9 a m to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on S aturdays.
