BLM Sends $12,620 to State for Minerals W illiam Thompson, president of the Brookings-Harbor s c h o o l board represented the district at a House hearing on the proposed increase of basic school support funds in Salem Thursday. Thom p son presented the view s of th e ! district to the legislators. Oregon received a total o f $12.620 as its share of $3,277,146 in bonuses, royalties and rentals from the m ineral leasing of Fed eral lands w ithin th eir boundaries d uring the first half of fiscal 1957. The service is free to all who wish to use this convenience w hether young or old. A ten tativ e schedule has been arranged beginning o n P a r k View D rive at 8:20 a m. and a rri ving at th e church in tim e for Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. The route w ill be: Down P ark View D rive to H iw ay; up Ranson, across Second, dow n Easy to Hi w ay; dow n Arnold l^ane and back to Hiway. Coming into town the bus will go down Cottage and Hemlock streets. A trip out to H arbor w ill include tu rn in g right a t the 101 cafe onto Benham Lane and follow ing the loop back to th e JUW3M. .A lso J1ÍW3JU ,A ls service to the arttor TÄkUrr C ourt is being planned. Then around 9 20 the bus will follow Spruce St. through the Beresa T ract and on to the church by w ay of De Norte. The service is free and the d riv er will be Mr G. A Lindsey. Also on M arch 10 the Brookings Bible church will in stitu te its first Ju n io r church service at 11:00. Mrs. M arion Com fort will be in charge and all children from 4 8 years will enjoy th eir own church service. At th e same tim e Mrs. C laude Moore will supervise the nursery program for children u n der 4 yrs. The re tu rn trip for those riding th e bus will be betw een 12:00 and 12:45. T he bus service is not just for youngsters but for any one w ishing to use this transportation to th e Brookings Bible church week week on Sundays.
