Dr. Goble’s slides consisted mainly of the wild flowners grow ing over on the islands. He and Mrs. Goble plan to make Harbor their home soon. Our reasons follow. to Portland to see if it behaved Roy Brimm is an able and conscientious man. in traffic there like his Jeep did. We are convinced that he 'would give the position a great deal of time and attention, above and beyond the call of duty. We think that he has shown ability in his handing of city affairs in his term as mayor of Brook ings. We don’t think he will be “pushed around” in the county court. We like his idea of setting up regular “office hours” in Brookings, where people can be heard. We don’t like to think of the county commiss ioner as being only a “road builder. But if road building is a part of the job—we think Brimm can handle it better than most people. We think that Brimm’s experience in handling the Brookings government was invaluable, and would serve him well at court. We don t for example, think that he will sit in on a meeting without minutes being taken, as is being done now. Nobody has ever questioned Brimm’s honesty, his integrity, or his willingness ‘to get something done. Brimm has devoted a lot of time, in behalf of the people of Brookings, and his willingness to do as much for the people of the county is to be commended. We can’t just dismiss Brimm’s opjxment. Boh Ismert, either. We personnaly like Ismert, and wc have felt all along that he is a capable man. We feel that he has done a great deal for this end of the county, and possibly would have been more effective if the com-1 munity had hacked him more. However, that is the point of the whole story. Ismert is from Pistol River. He lives there, and has his friends there A line drawn through the county at the north limits of Brookings would show that between 40 and 45‘percent of the inhabitants live south of tli.it line. We have no representation, as such. \ \ e need rep resentation—and so we need Roy Brimm. The Hall Minnie King battle for legislature is a horse of a slightly different hue. We have nothing but admiration for Hall, and his willingness to do his •job as he sees it, despite the toes he steps on. Hall has political courage. I lall is a competant lawyer, and will make an able legislator. Hall is intelligent, and knows his way around in state political circles. He can get things done. • Opposing him is Minnie King. About her we know nothing. We have not yet met the woman and are not qualified to judge. We do know Sam I lall.
