The H arbor Com m unity Club had its regular m eeting last F ri day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Alice Putnam , in H arbor. There w ere fourteen m em bers present one of whom was Mrs. Missouri Tolm an who came all the way from her present home in Bandon to a tten d the m eeting. Mrs. Em il Edwardson, P resi dent, presided with Mrs. Hazel Hendry acting as secretary-treas Pro-tem in the absence of Mrs Viola Hanscam, w’ho was still in the hospital in Portland. It was reported th at the club had completed three m ore lap robes and some bed-stand curtains and covers for Camp W hite. A fter the business meeting, Mrs Jam es Donnelly, the guest of the day, sang “T rees” and "Alice Blue Gown.” The table was decorated in the Hallowe'en m otif and Mrs. Put nam and her co-hostess Mrs. Lois Peterson served cake and coffee. CHIEF CROSS SAYS IlALLOWE’EN QUIET Chief of Police Bud Cross ex pressed thanks to the Boy Scouts nnd to the Lions C u b on the parade held here Sunday night. C hief Cross said th at Hallow e’en was very quiet compared to surrounding area cities. Cross was pleasantly surprised at the lack of dam age done here, and said he was very encouraged by it. Jack Crush, Brookings, has recently been sent overseas. The destination w*as not released. Jim C rush is expected to retu rn soon from his tour of overseas dutv.
