ROW E U ntil ju st recently I have been able to tak e pride in the fact th at I could rem ain calm in alm ost any- perplexing situation. Likewise, 1 have gloried in my rep u tatio n for being able to ignore triv ialities which would o rdinarily throw o th ers into w hat my Aunt M ary refers to as a "tizzy.” Of late, though, I fe ar th a t un- iCss som ething is done soon to ease th e tension, I will be faced w ith a form of fru stra tio n which has caused stro n g er men th an I to blow’ th eir tops. I refer to the phone conversations to which I am forced to listen since we c a n ’t afford a p ria te booth in the living room. To explain ad eq u ately the or- leal I am undergoing, I need only describe a typical conversation as h e a rd from my end of the line. T he son, sum m oned to the phone, picks it up, and this m um bo- jum bo re su lts; “H i- W h o ?—Oh, you—Hi W h a t? — Yeah — Yeah Yeah — Maybe — W hat ?
