I f we are to have o rder and peace in the fu tu re it is they who w ill have to b rin g it about. We have gone fa r in o u r m echanical developm ent, in s c ie n ti fic research and in the uses of in stru m e n ts of w a r and destruc tio n but are only beginning the study o f hum an relations. The youth of today m ust be prepared to guide o u r co u n try in to the fu ll re a liza tio n o f w o rld leadership w hich o u r c o u n try now holds. Adequate school fa c ilitie s and salaries th a t w ill a ttra c t the best teachers w ill help to give the yo u th the prepa ra tio n w hich they need to b rin g about a new order. N ever before in o u r h isto ry has the need fo r w o rld understanding been so fu lly placed upon o u r co u n try. W hat w o do w ill determ ine the fu tu re We must give the yo u th the tra in in g to assume and solve the problems. On the six th day of J u ly the citizens o f this co m m u n ity have the rig h t to meet w ith the School Board to discuss the 1953-64 school budget. Are you ready and w illin g to accept th is respon s ib ility ? A re you inform ed? I f not, w hy not? Whose respon s ib ility is it ? Y our leaders o f the area in school a ffa irs ; the school board, and p a rtic u la rly the school budget com m ittee and C u rry C ounty R u ra l School Board representatives have studied the problem s and needs o f this com m unity. T he budget prepared by this group is presented to you in this issue. Y our reaction to th is plan w ill be welcomed at the m eeting scheduled as before stated. M r.
