Mt. Emily Gem and Jasper Pals Mineral Club Thursday. March 12 at 8:00 p.m., 62 persons m et at the VFW hall and organized the Mt. Emily Gem and Mineral Club. They were assisted by eight mem bers of the Crescent City Rockhounds of Crescent City, Calif. Mr. Charles Young acted as chairm an for the evening, w ith the able assistance of Mrs. G er trude C. Penn of Crescent City. The following officers w ere elect ed : Tom Yokum, president: Mrs. Charles Young, vice president; Floyd Young, secretary and tre a s urer. Also five m em bers w ere elect ed to act as board of directors. The third T hursday of each month was chosen as the m eeting date, the next m eeting to be April 16 at 8:00 p.m. at the VFW hall. There were exhibits of gems and m inerals from most p arts of the world on display. These were displayed by Rockhounds from Brookings, H arbor and Crescent City. These rare specimens have up to now been hidden in some garage, woodshed or attic, and when all were combined made a wonderful and interesting show*.
