Five new m em bers joined the club. A report from the flower show was th a t the silver tea brought the club $41. This is to go to help furnish the new Grange kitchen when it is ready. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. W oodworth of Hood River, Oregon are spend ing their vacation w ith his brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. C. C. W oodworth of Elk River. Sixes G range met S aturday evening and were honored by the presence of the Pomona M aster, K athryn Reekm an of H arbor and Pomona L ecturer, Bea Phipps of Gold Beach. This being the last m eeting for the Quinn family a lovely wool blanket was presented to them as a farewell gift. One candidate was given the 1st and 2nd degree abligation. M ary Don aldson, sta te w inner of the Grange essay contest, presented her certi ficate and said she had received her $100. She also has won in th e regional contest with an ex pense paid trip to National Grange where she will compete for the $1000 prize. It was de cided to hire two carpenters to resum e construction to the ad dition to the Sixes G range hall. Mr. K rueger resigned as jan ito r and his place will be filled later. Mrs. F rank T u rn er and son Jim m y have just returned from a trip to Hebron, III. for a visit w ith Mr. T urner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred T urner. Mr. and Mrs. Will Grover of Woodland, Wn. called on Mr. and Mrs. C harlie W ise of Denm ark S atu rd ay evening. Alma Wise is staying with her sister Helen M arston of Port O r ford for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Beason are in Kelso, Wn. for a few days visit with her folks. , Charlie Wise was one of the lucky fisherm en on Sixes over this week. He caught a 38 pounder. New residents in the Langlois com m unity are Mr. and Mrs. A. L. (L arry) Coldwell and son Jimmy. Mr. Coldwell is the new bacterio logist at the Langlois blue cheese factory. Prior to coming to Lang lois, the Coldwells have made their home in Portland. Thursday afternoon the Floras Willon club n e t at the home of Eva Cope in Langlois. Thirteen m em bers, one visitor and four children were present. Plans for the bazaar and cooked food sale to be held S aturday, Nov. 1st were form ulated.
