It would ta k e several colum ns of type to even briefly tell of th e life of th e Pilot, w hich first cam e in to being M arch 7, 1946. Six y ea rs later, th e No. 1 is sue will be published on M arch 6, to s ta r t the seventh y e a r of publication. If progress in the next six y ea rs will be only h alf as g re at as it has the last six, the P ilot m ight e n te rta in hope's of som etim e becom ing a daily. H arold Olney, Gold Beach, th e county w elfare com m issioner, w as principal sp ea k er at the R o tary luncheon, Tuesday noon a t th e C hetco Inn.
