Mr. and Mrs. Bob Alexander of Hoquiam, Wash., spent a cou- p’e of days the firsttof the week visiting Mrs. Alexander’s sister, Mrs. Jeri Funari. Bob, a printer, on the “Washingtonian” at Ho quiam, helped a couple days at the Pilot while here. The Armistice day dance at Smith River was a success, if the capacity crowd is indicative. A n. r.'ber of local Legionnaires of this area were among those xp- resented. Music was by Chetco R mblers. Page Three Brookings Market The benefit festival at Chetco Grange hall last Friday night, | for the Community library, was an event which will be remem bered for a long time. Games and sale of different articles netted a tidy sum for the library. Supper, in ample proportions was served. Dancing made up a part of the evening’s diversion.! The Fish Pond, run by Mrs.1 Bertha Moore; Auction Table, by Mrs. Roy Hendry; White Ele phant by Mrs. Judkins and Mrs. Earl Simpson; Bingo by Mrs. Ir ma Rice; Parcel Post by Mrs. Emma Waldien; fortune telling by Mi's. Maude Sandbo and Mrs. Lillian Weideman, grossed about $200, which sum will be aug mented by many who were un able to attend.
