Certainly it is no idle statement to say that a wide section of the counry is also look ing forward o this event because previous affairs have been at tractively pleasing to those who were present. The success of the who affair hinges on the area’s co-operation in providing floats to add length and color to the parade. An ap- peal has Iwen mailed to all people of the area who may wish to put their ingenuity to work on some kind of float. This is a community project. Benefits from it, although definitely intangible, are certainly for the community as a whole and the growers in particular. Businesses of the area are entering floats, these firms expect to put time, effort and money out for this affair. Certainly, the growers could do great service by furnishing the lilies needed to beautify the parade. Contact Achie Hendricks, at Hendricks Furniture Co., and apprise him of what you plan to do in way of help. He is float chairman, and wishes to know in advance in order to arrange the parade according to classifications. By Dewey Since before the district voted to exceed the 6 G imitation for funds to conduct the schools, and again at the annual election for director, the Pilot has been ac- cused by several of controlling the policy of the district. This should do something to my ego if it were true, but these same accusers must some day learn that a newspaper rarely sets the policy for such an entity as To drive over any road in this area, at any time after a period a school district, etc. The news of time, you will note new buildings springing up at almost every paper reports the news; it does corner. Giving imiwtus to this boom, if that is what ou wish to call it, seems to be the opening up of new industries, such as saw mills, in the area. Others, now living in cramped quarters, are acquiring property with intention of erecting homes more to the individual liking, and desin s. 'Phis means more sales of those things which go to make homes livable it means stability. Best of all, this building means that this area has more valuation in property, means that the present property does not decrease in community has — rather increase* in worth. It means that become that much more valuable, desirable and worthwhile for homeseekers looking for a place to live. That is common sense. As far as I am able to learn, Homer Kessler's name was put on the ballot for rural school board member by a petition filed at the office of the rural school board, at Gold Beach, signed by some forty-odd voters of the dis trict. This petition, I suppose, is available for inspection.
