Judging Starts At Noon; Parade Will Commence At 2:00 ------------------------ --------------------------------- Consider The Lilies Theme Fer 1950 "Showing It is with considerable pride that Azalea Garden Cluo an nounces the addition of the Trav eling Exhibit of the Oregon Cam era Club to the art exhibit of its annual flower show, July 2, 3 and 4, during the lily festival. This community will have an opportunity to view the work of some nationally-known camera t rtists. Everyone will see orig inal works of some of the best men with a camera in this coun try. Perhaps, without knowing it, everyone will see these pic tures. or have seen them, in na tional magazines, newspapers and general commercial use. This traveling exhibit has only been shown in major exhibits in key cities of the United States and has just been released from the Portland Museum of Art. Augmenting the traveling hibit will he a special display a small collection of the works of the renowned Ray Atkeson. As those who know, say, No one, makes snow and ski pictures like Atkeson. He is also famous for his color photography. Standard e e » a years parade. The parade, the only one of its kind in the world. will he held on Monday, July 3. beginning at 2 o’clock. Floats will assemble be- tween 12 and 1:30 for judging at the old mess hall, in Brook- i->gs. Many are the attractions to entertain the visitor. Besides the colorful parade, the conducted tours through lily fields, tours of three state parks in the area will be the fireworks displa» and the carnival on the midway. Given in conjunction with the lily festival will be the a inual Power show and art exhiu.t by Azalea Garden Club, which will open at 2 p. m. Sunday, uuly 2 at the high school gym (se° page nine for details). Azalea Garden club put- on one ol the most outstanding flower shows and art exhibits to be held in the state. Afldiated with the national coun* R of garden clubs, this club stages, meeting all the national stand ards in competition for th? pur ple ribbon, a national award. I he art exhibit is featuring the works of well-known west coast artists. Among them are James Kroeter of Portland; Eu- gene Bennett of Medford, also represented at the Portland Mu- seum; Hal E. Bishop, Monnell, Platz and many other represent ing Oregon. From Humboldt State College comes the works of Cady, Everett, Stebbins, Wil liams, Anderson, Knight and Mc Lean. Baseball Games To Help '50 Festivi! While the Southern Ore gon league has no scheduled games for next Sunday, Bus iness Manager Pete Les- meister has booked str mg Central Point “Studs” to vie with the Pelicans in an exhi bition game at the local field for the game at *wo next Sunday afternoon. .. .Arrangements have been completed with Rogue Rwer "Rogues” for a game here on Monday afternoon immedi ately following the lily pa rade. Negotiations are still under way for a third game to be played the afternoon of July Fourth.
