Broken sizes, The Old Year by N ancy Vincent The year of 1947 will soon be gone. In thus year the pupils of j the freshm an class have com plet-: ed the eighth grade and started into high school. This year w as, very different than any other, I for one, have ever experienced. High school w as som ething very- new and different th an grade school. It seems th a t our sub jects became m ore interesting as the m onths passed. Of course, 1947 will lx* rem em bered because of o u r graduation in May of th a t year. In 1947 Brookings H arbor school got very’ little C hristm as vacation because of delay in the sta rtin g of school a t the first of th e year. School was scheduled to s ta rt on Septem ber 2nd. It w as then postponed because of fu rth e r discussion to Septem ber 15th and then the date was changed to Septem ber 29th. Both the teachers and the pupils were» relieved when school finally did sta rt on the 29th as sched uled On November 21, we w ent to Gold Beach for the basketball jam boree. Brookings really went to town. Since then we have play ed a num ber of games. A game w ith the Mohawk High school is „scheduled for December 31 a t our gym. The senior cia* s gave a d à nee following one of the basketball games between Brookings and Crescent City.
