It’s been a little too scorching lately to truly enjoy being outdoors, but once it starts cooling off a little, consider checking out some Free Shakespeare in the Park. Free Shakespeare is Eugene’s longest-running free theater program; it’s in its 19th year. This year, Free Shakespeare is putting on Henry V, which will run every weekend in August on the south lawn at the Amazon Community Center (next to Amazon Park). The show is directed by Sharon Se’love and features a cast of community members who range in age from 12 to 77. The production also features fight direction from John Elliott III for all of its battle scenes. So, bring a blanket, a picnic, some family and friends and sit back and take in some early modern English and action- packed Shakespearean drama. Free Shakespeare in the Park’s performances of Henry V start at 6 pm and run every Saturday and Sunday in August, with the next performances on Aug. 11 and 12. The performances take place on the south lawn at Amazon Community Center (2700 Hilyard Street). Every performance is FREE. — Meerah Powell Pajama Story Time, 6:30pm, Eugene Public Library. FREE.
