Dogs, from imported Italian Lagotto Romagnolos to pit bulls, can sniff out a ripe truffl e in just seconds, and the second annual Joriad North American Truffl e Dog Championship contest is back in town to separate the fungus sniff ers from the butt sniff ers. Day two is the fi eld trials, and since romping through the woods isn’t a great spectators sport, you can attend the awards gala, eat truffl es, drink wine and “meet and greet” the truffl e dog fi nalist at Willamette Valley Vineyards in Turner.
