Open every Saturday, year-round, 9 am Vital Statistics Patricia Lynn Thompson Patricia “Pat” Lynn Thompson, 73, of Cottage Grove, Oregon passed away April 11, 2024. Pat was born in Roseburg, Oregon to parents Fred Harley and Evelyn Marie (Roper) Cady. She graduated from Yoncalla High School in 1969. Pat married Jerry Thompson in Cottage Grove, Oregon on September 19, 1969. She worked at Mr. B’s in Curtin as a waitress, the Flower Basket in Cottage Grove, and she retired from Oregon Medical Group after 25 years. Pat really enjoyed sewing. She made over 200 blankets for all of her family and friends. She also made several costumes. She loved to -1 pm. Produce, plants, artisan crafts, soaps, jams, hummus, kombucha, handmade pottery, local honey, jewelry, prepared food and delicious baked goods, woodworking, candles, soaps, spices, flowers, all produced locally in and around Douglas County. Local producers come together every Saturday to share their goods and promote their products. This is a family event that promotes thinking locally and supporting your neighbors. Umpqua Valley Farmers Market was voted 2021’s voted Outstanding Large Market by the Oregon Farmers Market Association. She enjoyed taking trips to the coast and searching for hidden floats. She loved to cook and to play bingo. Pat is survived by her husband Jerry Thompson of Cottage Grove, OR; son Jeff (Amanda) Thompson of Harrisburg, OR; daughter Stacia (Rickey Barros) of Salem, OR; sister Mary Cady -Prender of Silverton, OR; brother Randy Cady of Alvadore, OR and brother Raymond Cady of Yoncalla, OR. She also leaves behind her 4 grandchildren who were her pride and joy: Makenzie (Thompson) James, Austyn Thompson, Tyler Thompson, and Gracelynn Barros. She was preceded in death by her father Fred Cady and Mother Evelyn Cady. There will be a memorial service held June 2, 2024, at 2:30 PM at the Cottage Events Venue 2915 Row River Rd., Cottage Grove, Oregon. There will be a private burial at Comstock Cemetery, Curtin, Oregon. Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel. Christopher Rein Schuerger Bobby Ray Scott Jr Bobby Ray Scott Jr passed away suddenly on April 6th 2024. He was a resident of Drain but grew up in Visalia Cali- fornia. Bobby was a pipeline welder and a welding in- specter when he retired. Celebration of life to be announced at a later date. Chris “Gas Can” Schuerger was killed on his motorcycle on April 6th in a single-ve- hicle crash on Hwy. 38 near milepost 30.5 in Douglas County. Chris was born on June 5th 1983 in California.. He was an Army combat veteran. Chris moved to Oregon from Texas to be closer to his 2 kids in Springfield. Chris will be missed by his family and friends.
