I Kraft, 10, joins Post as cartoonist Adam Kraft, 10, is the ereater of a new comic strip that w ill be appear ing in the Sandy Post called “ Bob cats.” Kraft, a fifth grader at Sandy Grade School, said he likes to read, play football and draw comics. He also plays the piano and the trom bone. Mrs. Kerslake was born May 22, 1906, in Brounton, Minn. She lived there about six years before moving to Minneapolis and Hibbing. She came west in 1925, when she and a friend got a ride to Yellowstone Park where they worked for the sum mer. According to fam ily members, the two women disregarded the fact that they were not men and heeded Horace Greeley who advised young men to “ go West ” They hitchhiked toward the coast and landed in Yakima, Wash., where they worked during the apple season They then hitchhiked to Portland where Mrs Kerslake went to work in the Shriner’s hospital in November, 1925 She married Harold F. “ Pat” Kerslake on Aug. 4, 1931, in Van couver, Wash. Mrs. Kerslake liked hats, fishing, stream s, lakes and mountains, especially Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood She once climbed Mount Hood. She moved to Wemme in 1973 where she lived before moving to Sandy three years ago She was a m em be r o f the A m a ra nth Court of Sunnyside, American Association of Retired Persons, National Travelers Club of F loral Park, N Y. and the Mount Hood Community Senior Citizens. She was a member of the F irst Church of Christ, Scientist She is survived by her daughther, Marian J. Rueppell. Beaverton, and two grandchildren Also surviving are brothers and sister: Charles N. and Gayle B Urbach, Torrance, C alif.; and Jane F. Jones, Portland Contributions may be made to the speech and hearing center at Univer sity of Oregon Health Sciences Center, Portland She is survived by three sons,- George Moore Jr. of Kodiak Alaska. Ray Moore of East County and Frank Moore of Sandy. She also is survived by her sister, Lilas Peterson of Portland; 11 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wright was born to Raymond and Sylvia Maybee Morgariedge on Sept 9,1905, in Dayton. She was rais ed on a farm in Dayton and attended school in the town. In 1923, she m arried George Moore in Portland. She later m arried Earl Wright. Both her husbands preceed- ed her in death Since her marriage, she lived all but one year in Portland That year was spent in Eugene. Mrs. W right enjoyed gardening, flowers and animals. Vault interment w ill be in Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland. Myrtle Deming M yrtle Deming was born M yrtle Ena Newton in Maple Creek, Saskat chewan, Canada, on Nov. 25, 1907. She died at her home in Sandy on Nov. 18 at the age of 77. A fter high school she continued her education in nurse’s training at Devils Lake, North Dakota. While receiving her train in g she met Donald Deming, who she m arried on Dec. 14, 1930 in North Dakota They lived in North Dakota where they began their fam ily. In 1936 they came to Oregon to make their home at Sandy Ridge She became active in the P.T.A at Sandy Ridge School and at the Sandy Community Church. When the Sandy Com m unity Presbyterian Church was formed in 1952, Mrs Deming became a charter member. She serv ed as a deaconess in the church and was active in other women’s ac tivities. Mrs. Deming was also a member of Eastern Star. In 1982, she was elected to serve as the queen for the Sandy Mountain Festival. In addition to her job as a homemaker, she worked on the cafeteria staff for the Sandy Elemen tary D istrict until 1973. She was preceded in death by her husband in September of this year Survivors include three children: M arian Annis of Portland, Donna Vedder of Sandy and Sandra Spencer of O lym pia; a b ro the r: David Newton in England; five sisters: Lucy Breesy, Raye DeCrane, Violet Syverson and Eileen Wilkerson, all in Canada, and Elsie Hartmann in Washington; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services w ill be held Friday, Nov. 22 at 2 p m at the Sandy Community Presbyterian Church. When she was 5, her fam ily moved to Longmont, Colo., where she received her education and grew to womanhood. On Dec 8, 1919 she was united in marriage to Clarence Neiman in South Dakota They lived in Colorado where they began their fam ily Mrs Neiman devoted her time to her fam ily and home. In 1946, they came to Oregon to live in Springfield where they finished raising their fam ily Three years later, they moved to Oakridge where WINTER IS HERE! Mrs. Neiman became a member of the Oakridge Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge She enjoyed garden ing and sewing and loved music and caring for her grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in 1970 After his death, she remained at her home in Oakridge until 1973, when she moved to Sandy to make her permanent home. She was a member of the Sandy Golden Age Club and the Sandy Com munity Presbyterian Church. R e tu rn in g to P o rtla n d , she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She then came to the Boring area where she met Joe Schwab They were later married on July 18, 1929 They made their home in the Boring area where they raised their two children. On Oct. 1, 1950 she was married to Donald Dugger in Vancouver, Wash They remained in Boring where they raised their son.
