M/hat buying decisions do you m ake? Joel Faust, 14 I buy my own records, tapes and most o f my own clothes. I do some grocery shopping fo r my family. There are five kids in my fam ily and when it comes to going out to dinner, we all get a vote. 1 play sports. I choose the sports equipment 1 want and my dad usually pays fo r it. I. also, helped my dad pick out our new computer. David Powell III, 14 I pick all o f my clothes and shoes. Adults d on ’t know what kids like to wear. Sometimes my mom brings things home for me. Il I don t like them she takes them back. I chose my own T.V. and tape recorder and, o f course, my own records and tapes. The movies I go to are my own choice When we go out to eat 1 choose the place o r else I get the money and eat where 2 want to. I choose ali o f the snack food like potato chips cookies, cereal and stuff like that. Debbie Halstead, 15 1 buy mv own personal things like make-up, curling iron and things like that. 1 pick out all o f my own clothes. If it’s something I really need my mother pays for it. But if i t ’s something I just want, I usually pay fo r it. When my mom goes grocery shopping she takes one o f us kids w ith her. She’s learned that if she gets stuff we d on ’t iike, we d on ’t cat it. We have fam ily meetings to decide where we go out to eat and where we vacation. Nicholas Houston, 6 I get to pick out my games and ‘ oys. I choose my shoes and sometimes where to eat like Burger King and s tu ff I got a new bike from Santa Claus but I told him what kind I really wanted. Sometimes I get to pick out my clothes. I pick out my own candy. M y mom buys the cereal I like, sometimes. Alicia Jensen, 8 I get to choose my clothes but my mom pays fo r them. I get to choose my own shoes. , get to decide where we go ou, to dinner. I like french fries, fish and hot dogs. M y mom buys most o f the things we eat at home. When we go grocery shopping I get to choose the bread, the fru it and the cereal. Michael D.
