Kelso School hosts pre-school p arty Kelso School w ill host a pre-school party May 5 at 1 30 p.m for all children eligible to enter first grade in the fall Parents are asked to br ing a birth certificate and an immunization record so that registration may be completed at that time However, partial registra tion w ill be done, even if all this inform ation is not available The children w ill be taken to the first grade rooms, given a treat, some things to do and meet the teachers All parents are encourag ed to bring their eligible children to the party at 1:30 p m as this w ill enable Kelso School officials to have an idea about the size of the classes next year If you are not sure which school district you are in, you may call Kelso School at 668-8020 between 8 a m and 4:30 p m Hatn dinner planned C ottrell G rade School w ill host its annual ham dinner A pril 30 at the school The Sandy High School symphonic choir and other vocal music groups will perform at the annual Spring Vocal Concert April 2« It will be held in the SUHS commons at The ham dinner with all the trimm ings will be serv ed from 5 to 8 p.m at the school, locatd at 36225 SE 7:30 p.m. No admission will be charged. Proctor Road Tickets for the all-you- can-eat dinner are $12 for fam ilies, $4 for adults and high school students, $2 for grade school students and $2 50 for senior citizens Pre schoolers w ill be ad m itted free of charge Woodcutting lottery results due A computer is lending U S Forest Service of ficials a hand as they decide who w ill get to cut wood d u rin g s e le c te d periods T h e Z ig z a g R a n g e r District w ill stop accepting lottery applications this Monday, April 25, for the district's first two-month woodcutting period in May and June W o o d c u tte rs w ill be selected with help from a computer at the M t Hood National Forest's Portland office. “ T h e c o m p u te r sort should insure fairness and p re v e n t any of th e mechanical problems in herent in a mechanical d r a w i n g , " s a id H e rb Evans, public information o ffic e r for the Zigzag District The Forest Service ex pects to issue approxim ate ly 1,250 permits So far, however, the district has received just 1,100 applica tions, Evans said, but they have been coming in at a rate of 50-60 a day.
