Born Jan. 18, 1921 and raised in Sandy, she receiv Rites planned today for former resident Form er Sandy resident Howard Thomas Young died Monday in a Portland hospital following a lengthy illness He was 54 Funeral services w ill be held today, Dec 9, at 1 p.m in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home Interm ent w ill follow at Cliffside Cemetery. M r Young was bom July 11, 1928 in Wyoming where he lived until he was 11 years old when his fam ily moved to Oregon He serv ed two years in the m er chant marines and return ed to Oregon in 1945 He was a long-haul tru ck driver for most of his life. In the mid-1970s M r. Young lived in the Sandy area until he moved to Beaverton to make his home. He is survived by his d a u g h te r , F a y e lle n Reynolds of E s ta c a d a ; sons. Tod of Beaverton. N o rm a n , P a t r ic k and Donald, all of Portland; his parents, M r. and M rs. Ralph Young of Beaverton; two sisters, Doris Smith of B e a v e rto n an d L in d a Palm er in California; a brother, John of Portland There are also eight grand children surviving.
