D Boring, has secured the debate she's sought with Rep Denny Smith, her opponent for the newly-formed 5th congres sional district. The debate will be a one- hour joint appearance at 7 30 p m Oct 20 at the Charbonneau Country Club near Wilsonville The debate, sponsored by the bipartisan Citizens for Good Government Com mittee, is being coor dinated by former Oregon representative Edith Green McFarland has repeated ly challenged Smith to ap pear in a public debate. Rim officials feared the existing well and pump alone would be hard press ed to meet needs of some 320 homes, when the development is filled to estimates for 1986 A filled development would have only approx imately 262 gallons of water per day for each home by 1986 with existing sources That amount is considered marginal, par ticularly with shut-down of the present pump for repairs Reserve time of three days is required for repairs to the existing well pump, and such delays have caus ed problems there in the past.
