As a child she lived in Washington, Oregon, Mon tana and southern Idaho. She and Troy Sanders were married on June 17, 1933 at Buckskin, Wash They moved to Molalla in 1953 where they lived until his death in 1975 A fter T roy’s death she liv e d w ith her s is te r, Evelyn Jones, in Blackfoot, Idaho, and with sons and a daughter in Salem, as well as w ith Dempster in Sandy, and another daughter in Skagway, Ala. For more information call 688-8784 Time is running out for Sandy residents interested in serving the c ity as mayor or city councilors, The deadline for filing nom inating petitions is Aug 31, at 5 p.m City Manager Roger Jor- dan sa id th a t o fte n residents feel they would like to serve the city in a p u b lic o ffic e , but are unaware of how to get their name on the ballot. To qualify as a can didate, one must have been a Sandy resident for 12 months. One must obtain a nominating petition at San dy City Hall and gather the signatures of 20 registered voters who live within the city lim its. Lee, 25, of 33550 S.E. Colorado Road, was arrested on Aug. 19at7:30p.m. ona warrant from Multnomah County for misuse of a d rive r’s license. He was also charg ed with driving with a suspended license He was lodged in Clackamas Coun ty ja il. On Aug. 23 license plates were stolen off a vehicle parked at a residence on Gerilynn Court. The theft occurred sometime bet ween midnight and 2 p.m. A burglary occurred at Sandy Sentry sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 7 a m on Aug. 19 An unidentified person, or persons, broke into an outside storage building, attached to the store, and stole $126 worth of empty pop cans. Also under investigation is a residential burglary that took place on Pleasant Street. Radio equipment was stolen sometime bet ween 12:30 and 1 a m. M r and Mrs Terry Burns are plan ning to return as church planting missionaries with the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society. Burns w ill speak about bis work at the Pleasant Home Baptist Church, 32120 Dodge Park Boulevard, Gresham, on Aug 29 at 11 a.m. The Burns' first term was spent teaching in a school for missionary children. When they returned to the states he began a m inistry as interim pastor at the First Baptist Church of Caldwell, Idaho He was granted a leave of absence from CBFMS and resigned several months later in order to continue at the church During their second year in Caldwell the Burns' ex perienced a growing desire to return to Ivory Coast. In order to prepare for a d is c ip le s h ip and e v a n g e lis m m in is t r y overseas. Burns sought fu r ther education. In 1981 he completed his masters studies at the Western Conservative Bap tist Seminary in Portland He is currently enrolled in the doctor of m in is try degree program at the same school Previously he had received a bachelor of science degree in education from the U niversity of Idaho in Moscow. While in Ivory Coast, Burns became aware of the need for trained church leaders “ Once I was listen ing to an Ivorian church leader as he shared his desire to evangelize the peo pie of his town.
