He was 77. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home Interment followed at W illam ette National Cemetery in Portland M r DeVere was born Feb 17. 1905 in New Orleans He was raised in Louisiana where he was educated He entered the U S . Marine Corps where he served u n til 1925. He moved to Oregon in 1938 and married Catherine Wise on Aug 30. 1941 in Gresham They moved to Barton in 1949 and s e rv ed as caretakers at Trestle Glen Camp for 10 years. They moved to Sandy in 1959 to make their home. M r. DeVere raised Christmas trees and berries until his retirement in 1972. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two sons, Paul of Gresham and Robert of Sandy, and six grandchildren The fa m ily suggests, memorial contributions to the Sandy Baptist Church. M r Lee died early Mon day morning in a Wood burn nursing home. He was married to Iola E. Light 1927 in Vancouver, Wash He was born Feb. 18, 1898, in Waverly, Term and raised in Oklahoma. He moved to the Sandy area in 1923. He had been employed by area lumber companies before he form ed Lee’s Meat Company w h ich he o p e ra te d 1944-1966 He served as company livestock buyer. Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Larry Lee of Portland; daughters, Gladys Motta of Martinez, Calif., and Wan da Hashagen of Woodburn; sister Florrie Oxford of Amherst.
