POST—3 Senior Center News: Seniors readying for Gorge cruise A group from the Oral Hull Foundation will enter tain today 's Sandy Golden Age Club potluck meeting with a musical program at 1 p m. T h e p o tlu c k , w hich begins at noon, is open to all members and guests Following the potluck the hiking club will leave for a short excursion in the M ount Hood N a tio n a l Forest. R eturn to the center will be at approx imately 4 p m Preparations are now underway for the center's participation in the Sandy Mountain F estival this weekend. July 10 and 11 The Sandy Senior Center will sell homemade pies and cookies in Meinig Park as a fund-raising project for the Loaves and Fishes program Anyone interested in assisting with this project is asked to attend the pie baking workshops today and tomorrow from 1:30 to 4 p m. The annual Columbia River Gorge scenic cruise has been planned for Fri- day, July 30 This year, participants will travel via Amtrak from Portland to Cascade Locks where they will board the Columbia Sightseer Cost of the trip is $22 50 per person Reservations and pay ment mustbe received by the Sandy Senior Center no later than July 9. An election to fill that position will be held March 29. 1983 Griffin had served as board chairman at what he thought would be his last meeting on June 14. In other action the board decided to place the same $2 7 million operating levy before the public again Aug. 10. The levy was voted down 1,099 to 896 on June 29.
