Agricultural conference is set for March 7-10 There will be much more than ju s t lectu res at A g ricu ltural Conference Days II. according to M a r tin Hellickson. associate professor of agricultural en g in e e rin g , and con ference cochairman This year's conference is scheduled for March 7-10 at Oregon State University and is open to all Orego nians interested and/or in volved in agriculture “ We w ill h ave the m e e tin g s of s ta te agricultural organizations and presentations at the conference, but there will also be several seminars on practical topics that people in a ll se g m en ts of agriculture can benefit from ,” said Hellickson The first full day of the c o n fe re n c e , M onday, M arch 8. begins w ith several j*eseniations on the g en eral them e of “ Agriculture — our World — Our Nation — Our State." The afternoon sessions include one on the outlook for agriculture in 1982. and another on the use of m ic ro -c o m p u te rs in agriculture. Day two of the con ference gets underway with a general session on high in h .e s t rates and a g r ic u lt u r a l c r e d it, m oderated by Manning B ecker, OSU exension fa r m m anagem ent specialist. This session will em phasize how agricultural producer? can deal with high interest rates and what interest rates may do in the future In the afternoon, the s e m in a r on m ic r o c o m p u te rs w ill be re p e a te d . In a n o th e r sem in ar, Gene Nelson, OSU e x te n s io n fa r m m anagem ent specialist, will discuss changes in in come and estate planning for farmers and ranchers made by recent revisions in federal tax law.
