Private interment was at Cliffside Cemetery in Sandy He was born Sept 8. 1919 in Conrad, Mont. He served in the U S . Navy during World War II. After his discharge in 1946, he mov ed to Oregon and married Catherine Muscolo in Van couver, Wash They lived in Portland where M r Baker worked in automobile sales. They later moved to Estacada where they owned and operated the Ford dealer ship A fte r s e llin g the automobile business, Mr. Baker began working in the real estate business in Gresham After moving to Sandy in 1968, he operated Chuck Baker Real Estate Co. He was involved in the forma tion of the Independent Bank of Sandy, served as the first chairman of the board and had remained a member of the board of directors since. He was an avid sport sman and enjoyed hunting and fishing He died in a Portland hospital Jan. 19 He was 62. He is survived by his wife, Catherine of Sandy, sons, W illiam Baker of Gresham and Gary Molen of Utah; his mother, Mary C. Baker of Portland, and three grandchildren The fa m ily suggests memorials be made in his m em o ry to M t. Hood Hospice, P.O. A fte r she m a r r ie d Charles A. Chapman in Tampa, Fla . they lived in Texas They traveled ex tensively before moving to Sandy in 1945 Shortly after her hus band’s death in 1954, Mrs Chapman moved to Boring She is survived by two sisters, Pearl Krum of Oakland, Calif., and Rubye Taylor in Alabama. Mrs. Grokett died Jan 26 in a Portland hospital.
