They have some really, really good per formers " The group spent three to four hours at St Jude's, br inging nice g ifts and visiting residents unable to attend their ‘complete’’ party, Scout Troop 718 caroled, and donated two w all decorations, a Santa Claus ’82-83 budget main item at ESD’s Jan. 18 board meeting The 1982 83 proposed budget will be the major item on the a~"?nda when Clackamas Education Ser vice District's board and budget committe meet Jan 18, according to ESD Superintendent Bob Bums During the meeting the committee will review the entire ESD general fund budget, program by pro gram, according to Bums The ESD is asking for 97 5 million to pay for general fund programs during the coming fiscal year The proposed budget is within the ESD’s tax base passed last spring and the six percent statutory limitation The budget committee is made up of seven elected ESD board members plus seven m o re co u nty residents appointed to three year terms The purpose of the com mittee is to review the budget to insure that re quested funding levels are both "adequate and affor d a b le ,” a c c o rd in g to Burns “ I feel the budget we are proposing meets both these tests,” Burns said. ‘‘This budget will maintain ESD programs at the current level, but we are not going to add any new programs or personnel “ The 1982-83 budget represents the smallest percent increase over the previous year of any ESD budget in over a decade," he added. “Holding the line on growth was particularly hard this year since tight Hoodland happenings: Thersday, Jan. 14 Saturday.
