POST—6 Industrial death toll down Oregon's industrial death toll dropped to its lowest point in 37 years in 1980 A total of 88 on the-job fatalities were recorded last year by the Workers’ Com pensation Department That compares to 137 in 1979 and 162 in 1943, the first year such figures were available from the department.
