Thur» For septic tanks Senior Center News The Sandy Senior Center hosts the Clackamas County Senior I^ jw Project today, April 2 A volunteer attorney w ill offer free consultation services to Sandy area senior citizens from 9 a m . until 12 noon. The service is available once a month and appoint ments may be arranged through the center’s office, 668 5569 The annual Spring Bazaar w ill dominate activities of the center tomorrow The public w ill have an oppor tu n ity to snack on home —baked foods and browse through creations from local hand crafters. Proceeds help finance the Loaves and Fishes meal pro gram. Due to a change in the law, the new 15 percent credit is available for the purchase and installation of solar, wind and geothermal equip ment to generate or convert energy for use in a business A new 11 percent credit is available for small-scale hydroelectric facilities, and a 10 percent cre d it is available for many other energy devices used in a business, some of which have been added by the new legislation. The amount of the credit depends on both the type of the equipment and the length of its useful life for deprecia tion purposes. The tax credit offsets the taxpayer’s regular income tax, and may result in a re fund of any tax paid in, with any excess credit available to carry over to another year. The revised rules, adopted by the Environmental Quail ty C om m ission (EQ C ) March 13, organize and c la rify the collection of regulations and am end ments that have governed the sub-surface disposal of sewage in Oregon The new rules became e ffe c tiv e March 23 beyond w h ic h no new cesspools may be installed.
