Bishop has had special assignments over the years in Nevada, Utah. California. W yoming and Colorado. His current assignment includes an a re a co v e rin g p arts of C a lifo rn ia . Ellis said leather etchings by Rosemary Jones from Mt. Hood w ill be displayed in a spot nicknamed the Rose Garden. Sandy artist M artha Decker is also due to participate. The third annual arts and crafts event is slated for July 9- 10 atSandy's Meinig Park. The festival is a non-profit community event financed entirely by contributions and fees paid by participating artists Although a r e la tiv e newcomer among the many arts and crafts festivals held each year, the Sandy Mountain Festival has grown to be one of the largest and best attended festivals in the Pacific North west. Last year’s attendance was at an estimated 35,000 people. Lynn E llis , one of the organizers of the festival, said she already has had com mitments from a variety of local artists to participate in the event.
