This was a very low blow indeed and even worse when I discovered this blood clot in the heart bit (Cor onary Thrombosis) is seldom encountered by the femalesex! Naturally, this fact alone was extremely agitating and I im mediately made up my mind to obey all the rule1- and reg ulations set forth by my doc tor. So what if I do have to spend »e-ks In bed, I thought, at least I won’t have to die of something so utterly unfem - mine!! Although 1 detect having my activities restricted, I’ve de cided there is a bright side. If I had to be sick - I’m at least getting it all over and done with In one crack. About the time I was ready to climb-tbe-walls with bore dom my doctor gave me the O.K. to use my typewriter and thi« is one reason “Hood-Land Happenings’’ is back in the fold. The other reason was Eil een Anderson’s promise to“flll -in” for Yours Truly, which she will do next week. Velma arri Grant DeShazer recently returned from a trip to Loa Angeles to visit son Larry who teaches at U.C.L.A. Janet and Merle Hill drove up to Ft, Lewis to visit son Greg who 1.« in the Army. Visiting their many friends on the mountain are Ken and Ella Porter of Glendale, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hadfield of Victoria, B.C. are guest« of Sally and Max Hurlbutt at Wemme. The Hurlbutts, inci dentally, have recently become grandparents of a 35 year old granddaughter. Namely, Yours Truly! (Just ask them if you don’t believe me.) You see, Max was ill last May and while Peggy and Gene Bowman, my true-love and I were visiting Old Town in Chicago we found one of those huge and humorous get well cars and sent it to Max. He saved the silly thing and much to my delight, Sally took it to the Hoodland’s Women’s Club meeting for the gals to sign. Knowing how pleased I would be, Sally and Max decided to deliver it in person the next day only to discover the “rel atives only’’ edict. Hence, the Hurlbutts became my “grand parents’* rather than leave the hospital with their mission un accomplished! Seeing them and getting the card was mighty fine tonic for their “grand daughter.” (Have two new “brothers” too. Dan Barker and Noel Splawn also found Lt nec essary to “adopt” a new rela tive in order to say hello in person. They followed the first foursome they met - all the way to the clubhouse! Once they found this was the place to be here was nothing to do but pen them up. 1 understand this was accomplished on the first hole somewhere below the men’s tee-off area. I would be grate ful it you would stop a minute to chat with them - or even do as Kay planned to do - let them walk around the course with you. NOTE TO LAURA BUCK: Your swimming pool will be safe from the invasion of Molly-nie- Horse! We plan to sell her as soon as we find a buyer. NOTE TO ALL READERS: Molly-The-Horse is for sale! She is a very nice horse. She likes to go swimming. In pools. She has been known to cross the Salmon River in order to swim in one. It is a chore to get a full grown mare out of a swimming pool. This doesn't bother Molly in the least. She merely jumps back in. The Buck family will attest to this. Say, I wonder if they could use a swim ming horse at the golf course? Bye Now SNOOP note MR.
