Betty and Debbie are here from Arizona with their families lor the picking season. Julie is a Sandy grade school student. Asakawa said he started Tuesday short of pickers, but had calls from enough to cover the fields ade- quately. He raises both Marshalls and Puget Beauties, both of which he sells to Hudson and to Jan» Berryland. The Puget Beauty, a newer variety, is said to be a cross be tween the Marshall and the wild strawberry and keeps a bit of its wild forebear’s special flavor. Asakawa says he expects a yield this year of about 3'; to 4 tons per acre. "Pay Yourself First FRANKLIN BENJ. SAVINGS & LOAN ASSN. FEDERAL (Sandy Post photo) HOME OFFICE: 517 S.W.
