The Pierces came to Sandy about a year ago and for some time Mrs. Pierce, a regist ered nurse, worked for Dr. Noeh- ren. They have a young son Jon born April 21 of this year and a daughter Linda who is one and a half years old. The club recenlty acquired a 48 cup coffee urn and the members are selling vanilla to help pay for it. It was also planned to have a bake sale on June 22 and 23 at the Kelso General Merchandise store. The next meeting of the club will be held at the home of Mrs. Mabie Haven at 8 PM on June 27. Mrs. Rose Chandler and chil dren and Mrs. Edna Meldahl and children of Sutherlin, Oregon were visitors for the past week at the the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Roy German and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Parker and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas German. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Varner of Grants Pass were overnight guests last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Parker. Mrs. Varner was formerly Irene Wilson of Sandy. His father was a native of Switzerland and his mother was born in Ger many. He spent his early child hood on a farm in Kansas. He was married at Ritzville.
