Six tables were in play, they reported. A meeting of the Toastmist- ress Club will be held at The Center in Gresham on December 28th. ' Installation of officers will be the main feature of the evening. The home economics club of the Sandy grange met with Mrs. Marvin Light Tuesday, Decem ber 5th, for their Christmas party. There were 15 members and 2 visitors present. Mrs. E. N. McManus- assisted with the party. Mr. and Mrs. George Hartwig, William Hartwig, Alice Richter and daughters, Marlene and Joan, are going to Salem Christ mas day to have dinner a t the home of Mr. Hartwig’s brother- in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Cazzell. Sandy, were held Wednesday, December 13th, at the Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. She died last Friday while being rushed to a Portland hospital. The services were read by Rev. R. E. W. Goodrick of the Sandy Baptist church. Inter ment was at the Cliffside cem etery. Miss Minnie Millisa Hawkins was born on January 15, 1887, in Huntsville, Ark. She was mar ried to Packwood McClain in Huntsville on September 19, 1907. Mrs. McClain has lived in Oregon since 1928 and in Sandy since 1940. Survivors include her hus band, a son, E. R. McClain, Ne halem; 2 daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Boylan and Mrs. Thelma Bled soe, both of Sandy; 3 sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ritchey of San dy, Mrs. Tennessee Wilford of Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. Mar cia Scotes of Huntsville, Ark., and 6 brothers, John Hawkins of Portland, Arthur Hawkins of Warrenton, Nash Hawkins of Fayetteville, Ark., Ed Hawkins of Jennings, Okla., Samuel Haw kins of Huntsville, Ark., and Riley Hawkins, Sandy. Seven grandchildren also survive. The Eagle Creek Grange Installs EA g L e CREEK—The Grange held installation December 16th with 55 in attendance. Fred Bates was installing officer. An accordion solo and skit were presented and gifts were exchanged. December 20 the Ladies Aid will meet at the home of Mrs. Mabel Tasheron with annual gift exchange and pot luck Christmas refreshments. Coming events include: December 22, School Christ mas program. Birthday Is Honored With Sunday Party Mike Paluck’s BULL RUN — Mrs. Melvin Haneberg was guest of honor at a Sunday night supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. • Alfred M. Lee on her birthday anni versary. Other guests present were her husband and children and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Anna Hane berg; Mr. and Mrs. John E. Dagsland, Mrs. John M. Dags- land and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dagsland, all from Portland. Officers Elected By Missionary League Of Lutheran Church Mrs. Richard Ulrich was elect ed president of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of Immanuel Lutheran church of Sandy at the December meeting of the society. The meeting was held last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Emil Fuerstenau, route 2, Sandy, and Mrs. Floyd Wag ner was co-hostess. Other members elected in cluded Mrs. Helen Dahrens, vice president; Mrs. Floyd Wagner, secretary, and Mrs. Ernest Gehrts, treasurer. The zone meeting of the LW- ML will be held on January 25 at Zion Lutheran church, Port land, beginning with a 11:30 luncheon, Paul Hanson, admin istrator at Emanuel hospital, will be the speaker. After the meeting adjourned, each of the older members of the society was presented with a Christmas corsage, and a small box of ‘Christmas Goodies.’ Christmas carols were sung and refreshments were served to 18 members and 2 visitors. COMMUNION SERVICE The first Christmas commun ion service of St. Luke’s Epis copal Mission will be observed next Sunday, December 24, at 11 a.m. in the Bateman chapel, North Main avenue, Gresham The Rev. Neville C. Blunt, of St. Helen’s hall, Portland, will be the celebrant.
