FROM BAY AREA George Sorenson of N o r th Bend was a visitor in Langlois last week, and on Saturday Mrs. Charles Caughell of Coos Bay visited friends and relatives in the area. DINNER GUESTS Mr. and Mrs. Lute Henry of Langlois were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Shortridge of the Glen Flora Bogs and on Monday Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Joan K reutzerw ere In Coos Bay on business. WAGNERS VISIT Mr. and Mrs. BrooksWagner and children, Tammy and Brain, visited in Port Orford during spring vacation. They are tea chers in the school at Dallas. SISTER VISITS Mrs. Louda M iller of Gold Beach visited her daughter and family, Mrs. Grover Moore, in Eugene recently and stopped to visit her sister, Josie Forty, on her way home. VISITS DAUGHTER Mrs. Elsie Rickman of Port Orford went to Portland on busi ness Tuesday and visited her daughter in Forest Grove before returning home. FROM NEWPORT Mrs. Kenneth Forty of New port and children drove to Port Orford Sunday and spent spring vacation visiting relatives and friends. Approve Site Good Samaritan society rep resentatives last week looked o v e r the five-acre plot in 'Brookings donated by Elm er Bankus for the construction of a nursing home and gave final approval to the site. The Society resolution reads "to authorize construction of 60 to 72 lied nursing home and an indebtedness of $350,000 on the condition that the community d o n a t e s a suitable site and $1,500 per bed." An a rtist’s drawing of the exterior view of die nursing h o m e was presented to the Brookings committee members last week by officials of die society. HOME FROM PORTLAND Connie Glggins from Cascade College in Portland and Gloria Knutson from Multnomah School of Religion are home in Lang- l o i s this week for spring va cation. TO SAN FRANCISCO Mrs. Everett Isenhart and .»on, Henry, went to San Fran cisco, Calif., last week to visit her s i s t e r , Ida Vandenberg. There they were met by her cousins, Mr. and M rs. Ralph Coulter from Boulder, Colo., .and enjoyed a visit. IN PORTLAND D a v id Barklow, of Dick’s Farm Store north of Langlois, went to Portland on business last week and because it was spring vacation took his son Blair with him. VISIT BROOKS Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Teaney from Rapid City, S. D., spent two days ir Langlois as guests of her niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Brooks. They had been in California visiting other relatives. SON IS BORN Born to Mr. and M rs. Stan ley Clyde Quigley of Langlois on March 10, at 3;06 a.m. at the McAuley hospital In Coos Bay, a son, Steven Kyle. The young man weighed six pounds and 10 ounces. NOTES BIRTHDAY John Chenoweth was 92 years old on March 9 and his brother, Jim , and wife from Charleston, visited him. Also calling to wish him many more years was his niece, Mrs. Dewey K e e l e r and husband, from Charleston and another niece, M rs. Albert Wells, and her husband from Gold Beach. M rs. Nels Howe was in charge of Cape Blanco light station during the 1940’s and Dale Howe grew up here.
