BIRTHDAY HONORED M rs . George Edwrrds en tertained a group of friends Saturday evening In honor of her husband’ s 73rd birthday. Friends noted his cheerfulness despite the loss of both legs some months ago. M r. and M rs . George Guerin showed colored slides of some of th eir trips made In recent years across the United States. Friends attending were M r. and M rs . Everett Isenhart, M r. and M rs . Dave Bolsjolie of Portland are parents of a daughter, Lisa Ann, born Dec. 29. She Is the form er M ary Sue Bennett, daughter of M r. a n d M rs . Henry Bennett of Rohnert Park, C alif. M r. and M rs. Bennett, their daughter, Ginger, and son, Dick, spent the recent holidays with members of their fam ily In Portland. Other grandparents Include M r . and M rs . S. M . Boisjolle of North Bend; great-grand mother Jessie Newton of Ban don, and Ina Bennett of P o rt land. IN DENVER M r. and M rs. Rex Robbins of Port Orford spent the holi days with relatives In Denver, Colo. They made the trip by plane and reported good weather dur ing their stay. P hil was discharged last year after sevtag for ayear in V ie t nam. Both were students at SOC In Ashland the fa ll term . They are presently making their home In Port O rford. He Is employed by com m ercial fisherman Dick Goergen. HAS SURGERY Guy H a ll, young son of M r. and M rs. Fred Hall who reside at the Hughes ranch at the mouth of the Sixes riv e r, was taken to Southern Coos General Hospital Friday evening for an em er gency appendectomy. HOST DINNER M r. and M rs . Edward Sypher of Langlois w ere hosts at their home on New Y e a r’ s for a fam ily dinner. Attending were the Gordon Britton fam ily, M r. and M rs. Harold Sypher of Langlois, M r. and M rs.
