The strong as well as weak chicks are attacked, Ex- perinuental work indicates that they are then not able to digest hard grain and should be fed moist mash three times a day. Treatment also includes moving the chicks to clean ground and disinfecting the brooders with a 10 per cent solution of crude car bolic acid. Epsom Salts at the one fourth pound to the mash for 100 chicks, and hydrochloric acid at the rate of one teaspoonful to a gallon of water, are also recom mended. Milk is recognized as the ideal food for young children.
