Amtrak brings in cargo, people Across a great Steel Bridge, its Wheels squeal in harmonic notes, a Lugubrious dirge for the fallen hero. Whirr...Whirr...Pk!...Pk!...Pk!... A Red Line crosses my path, is it Good luck or a chance to make a friend The speed indicates exercise and plans. Wroaaa...Wroaaa...Wroaaa... On rivers, there are various sizes of Boats, ships, and smaller vehicles, here A cigarette gives cancer of the ears and not the lungs. The sounds of the waterfront are filled With laughter, joy, some shouts and Emergency vehicles, trains, planes, Helicopters, recumbents, Segways, The ding ding of a bicycle built for a family. On Portland’s waterfront, an ear event always. This is a poem that ought not to have been written some things are just better left undone to be a poet is a serious calling for your words can really affect someone Hot dog and beans in the morning smoke a cigarette and sigh all these anxious spirits warring better be famous when I die Lovers on the fire escapes pick a pen up from the puddle and read your poems to the bums who around the evening fires are huddled To be a poet is a blessed calling you can really inspire the world you can animate the universe and maybe win the heart of a girl n^nle’s P WE&iS FARMERS’MARKET WEDNESDAYS 2-7PM TO $10 MATCH WITH EOT CARD Notice: Request for Proposals RFP No. 07/16-316 Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Project Based Vouchers Home Forward is requesting proposals from housing providers to partner with Home Forward and the local Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in an application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for set-aside funding available for Project Based HUD-VASH Vouchers using a Housing First approach. VASH vouchers come with Section 8 voucher rent assistance as well as ongoing case management and supports for the veteran provided by the Veterans Affairs (VA). Selected properties will be included in joint applications for VASH vouchers to be project based pending an award from HUD. The award of Project Based Vouchers (PBV) to the selected property will be conditional, subject to the successful award of HUD funding and compliance with all federal requirements including the PBV VASH regulations, the Fair Housing Act, the Civil Rights Act and the American with Disabilities Act. In the event HUD does not award Project Based VASH Vouchers for the selected property, Home Forward may elect to award Project Based VASH Vouchers currently available to Home Forward to the selected properties.
