If you want to buy someone a gift this season, consider something green: a plant, a potted herb, a tree, some seeds, even a cabbage or just plain old food. Everyone loves food! Break it down. What is good for recycled boxes is good for your life as well this late October: lean and out of the way. Life is better distilled. So are potatoes, which, come to think of it, are good mashed, too. Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 23) If you are up to the challenge, try pitching a tent at Occupy Portland’s site for a night. Consider bringing an umbrella and a home made sign. Walk or stand for a while and talk to people. Either way, bring your children if you have them, and show the world that things need to change, for the better, for the long haul, for all of us. Capricorn (Dec. 24-Jan. 19) Soup Can is remembering back to a corner market on California and 28th Street circa 1976 where, for a nickel, you could buy little wax soda bottles that had real colored liquid inside. The most enchanting treat was a Chinese candy that had paper made out of rice so you could pop the whole thing, wrapper and all, right into your mouth! Don’t waste your time trying to unwrap the mysteries of life. Just take a big bite and enjoy! going to be those who want to pounce on something that’s not quite right and kill it. There are many-more out there who are willing and eager to care for and caress those who need a little tenderness. Just show your love and ask for trust and be willing to give others the benefit of the doubt.
