OUR MISSION Street Roots creates income opportunities fo r people experiencing homelessness and poverty by publishing a newspaper that is a catalyst fo r individual and social change. More than 50 vendors sell Street Roots in the Portland m etro area and^ Vancouver. Each vendor can be identified by a vendor badge and Project each is assigned to a. specific territory. Vendors are empowered not only in their w ork to sell the paper, but many also contribute as writers and production assistants. The money they earn helps them meet basic housing, food and health care needs.
