Summer Rea ding Progra m by- La ura Smith & Ina Hilkey A sneak preview of the Summer Reading Program using the theme “ Script Your Summer- Read a Good Movie ” . The program will open on June 11 and run through August 18. During that time teens will have the opportunity to create their own character, write book reviews rating items with either thumbs up or thumbs down or circling the number of stars, add to an ongoing screen play and earn great prizes at the same time. Each branch will have its own cast note book containing each character’s reading log, and ongoing screenplay, once the cast member has read ten items (including magazines, audio books, and videos as well as books ) they are eligible for a prize. They will be given an entry ticket for the grand prize drawing August 22nd. Each ten items read will give the teen another chance to win a grand prize. The grand prize drawing will include subscriptions to Cinescope Magazine, movie related books such as James Bond-The Secret World of 007 and other titles, and for 20 lucky teens a private tour of Land-mine Video Production Company of Medford. Contact your librarian and sign-up. Friends of the Library Annual book sale will be July 4th in the park. If you have books to donate for this sale drop them off at the library prior to June 30th. All do nations are greatly appreciated. Watch for the library float in the parade. Anyone interested in helping with the float or have a child that would like to ride on the float please contact the librarian as soon as possible. I was fishing worms on the bottom for perch, and used a red and green jig for the crappie. Opening weekend of trout season I went to Diamond Lake and saw some trout on stringers up to 24 inches. If your arm gets tired of catching all those big salmon, I would suggest fishing the “ Holy Waters ” above Cole River Hatchery. The salmon flys are hatching now, so use a salmon fly imitation. That stretch of the river has some very nice rainbow trout that are full of fight and fun to catch. Remember, that part of the river is fly angling only, catch and release with barbless hooks. Karen Davis and friends were up at Willow Lake recently and caught some nice cat fish up to 16 inches, some sizable bass and a few trout. I went the next day and P.S.
