La reina será elegida y el anun­
cio se hará el 21 de agosto en la
Biblioteca del Parque en Wood­
burn. Ella entonces reinará y será
formalmente coronada en el día de
la tercera Fiesta Mejicana anual que
tendrá lugar en el Parque Settle­
mier el sabado, agosto 27.
Como será elegida la reina? Las
tres candidatas están vendiendo bo­
letos por 25c y cada boleto cuenta
como un voto. La muchacha con el
mayor número de votos ganará el
título de reina.
El dinero que se colecte por la
venta de boletos será utilizado para
la fiesta del año próximo y para
las festividades de Navidad de la
comunidad de Woodburn.
A medio día del sabado, un gran
desfile con carros adornados flor­
ales iniciará un día lleno de activi­
dades. Las festividades se llevan a
cabo en el centro de Woodburn.
Después del desfile, todos serán
invitados al Parque Settlemier don­
de una variedad de puestos serán
abiertas.
Comida mexicana, vajilla y ob­
jetos de recuerdos serán puestos a
la venta.
Una revista de novicios, cantos y
bailes culminarán los acontecimien­
tos del sábado por la tarde. Más
tarde, se llevará a cabo un baile
público, presentando, "Los Relám­
pagos" de Sunnyside, Washington,
que tendrá lugar en la cancha de
tenis.
Según la Sra. Chávez, presidente
de Comité Pro Mejicano, "La fiesta
del año pasado fué un gran éxito,
pero estoy segura que la de este
año será mejor aún."

son deba a luz a Terry y Jerry, dos
varones gemelos de 5 libras.
La Sra. Pearson llevaba un em­
barazo de 9 meses antes de que re­
cibiera los primeros cuidados per-
natales. Ella no sabía que se ofrece
al público un servicio clínico de sa­
lud al público en West Stayton los
martes desde la 5 hasta la 9 de la
noche. La Sra. Pearson estaba muy
agradecida de recibir un médico
gratuito antes de tener a sus bebes.
Los Pearson son de Bakersfield,
California. Ellos vinieron aquí para

An amateur show and singing

day evening. Later, a public dance,
featuring "Los Relámpagos" from
Sunnyside, Washington, w ill be
held at the tennis court.
According to Mrs. Andrea Cha­
vez, the president of the Comite
Pro Mexicano, "Last year's fiesta
was very successful, but I'm sure
that this year w ill be even better."
New managers chosen for circulation
Newspaper circulation managers
for each area were appointed
last week to be in charge of news­
paper distribution for their areas.
A meeting was held Friday at the
Opportunity News newspaper of­
fice in Woodburn to discuss and
plan how the newspaper should be
distributed. It was decided that
