Elva is fifteen years old. She is in the 7th grade at East Junior High in Hillsboro. Elva's favorite subject in school is typing and she would like to be come a secretary after she gradu ates from high school. Elva enjoys attending dances and cooking spe cial dishes for her friends. Everyone in the Teen-age Club in Hillsboro is working hard selling tickets for Elva. We hope that Elva Cortez w ill be crowned queen at the May Day Dance on May 14 in Dayton. couldn't read or write any better. Why did this person become a success, while others fail? The class learned that everyone has many hidden talents,- they just have to bring them out and let the future employer know about them. They learned how to take a "personal in ventory" and get this information across to an employer. They learn ed how to talk to the employer. They learned the best ways to act in an interview. They learned how to dress when looking for a job. They learned where to look for a job. They learned many, many things about getting jobs. But the suc cess of the classes w ill depend on just one thing, whether or not they get jobs. We w ill go back and visit them in a few weeks.
