Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements. Diana G. Savage Frost Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Diana Savage died July 28, 2018, at her home in Selma, Oregon, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born in Alton, Illinois on December 13, 1942 to Earl and Grace Strohkirch and the family moved to Selma, Oregon when Diana was 3 years old. She graduated from Illinois Valley High School in 1962. She married Donald Savage in 1964 and had 2 daughters; Beth and Brenda. She later went back to Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse and worked at the local hospitals. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, her little dogs, and Christmas! She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Lofrano of Roseburg, Ore. and Brenda Searle of Selma, Ore.; sister, Jackie Briggs of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Dick Strohkirch of Klamath Falls, Ore.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Donald Savage and her parents Earl and Grace Strohkirch. The Celebration of Life service for Diana will be held at The First Baptist Church in Selma, Oregon on Aug. 11, 2018, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at The Deer Creek Cemetery. Deters, 48, of Cave Junction, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 4, at Rogue Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 14, 1969, in San Pablo California, to James and JoAnn Scroggins. She moved to Cave Junction in 1993, where she worked as a correctional officer for Pelican Bay State Prison and began raising a family. She is survived by her children, Karley Deters,24, Emily Deters, 22 and Jacob Deters, 14. Her siblings Sheila Burns and Jaime Scroggins, as well as her parents James and JoAnn Scroggins. Stacey was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Her Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Aug.18, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Illinois Valley Senior Center in Cave Junction Oregon. Kathy was raised Catholic and attended St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Illinois Valley Golf Club where she scored a hole-in-one and was an avid bowler for 45 years at Caveman Bowl. Her many hobbies included oil painting, especially seascapes and landscapes; beachcombing, traveling, knitting, and creating beautiful stained glass and jewelry. Survivors include a daughter, Karen McCullough of Cave Junction; a son, Michael F. Gibney of Prineville, Oregon; a sister, Pat Cox of Cave Junction; seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Kathy was a beautiful woman and a real lady. Her home was always a welcoming place for family and friends. She was a great cook and no one ever left hungry. A funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church with a reception to follow. Private interment will be at Laurel Cemetery. Survivors include wife, Joan Marshall of Cave Junction; daughter, Laura Roberts; two sons, Keith Marshall and Paul Marshall; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Robert Allen Marshall James E. “Chris” Christensen, 97 , of O’Brien, died Stacey A. Deters Kathleen Marie Gibney, 92, of Cave Junction, died July 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born March 6, 1926 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. At the age of 8, she moved with her family to Coos Bay, Ore. where she grew up, attended schools and graduated from Marshfield High School. In 1947 she married Francis William Gibney, who preceded her in death in 1997. In 1963 she moved from Port Orford, Ore. to Cave Junction. July 29, 2018 at his home. Chris was born July 8, 1921 in Arco, Idaho to Elwood and Kathryn Christensen. He grew up in Arco and attended schools there. At age 18, he joined the United States Navy and later retired as an engineman. On Jan. 26, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland he married Elizabeth Marie Hadaway. In 1975 he moved from Torrance, Calif. to O’Brien. His hobbies included working on cars and around the house, and reading. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Christensen of O’Brien, Ore.; five children, James Christensen of Carson, Calif., Anna Valenzuela of Pleasanton, Texas, LeRoy Christensen of O’Brien, Linda Joseph of Huntington Beach, Calif. and Kevin Christensen of Billy Paul Duncan, 77, of Selma, died July 27, 2018 at his home.
