All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, June 26 *A hit-and-run incident occurred between 3-6 p.m. June 24 at Store Gulch Campground. The driver’s side rear door of an unoccupied silver- colored Toyota Corolla was damaged, but there was no suspect information. It was tagged as beyond available resources by Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO). *At 11:18 a.m. an agency requested assistance from JCSO to ensure that an establishment was up to code. It seems that the owner of a business in the 200 block of E. Watkins Street has been hostile in the past. *A Jeep was recovered in the parking lot of Taylor’s Country Sausage at 11:24 a.m. An individual claimed that the Jeep had been stolen from him, then it was snatched from the thief who took it. The rightful owner provided a bill of sale, and a deputy advised on the procedure to register the vehicle. Arrangements were made for the return of the car keys. *At 12:15 p.m. a bicyclist was warned for failure to obey a traffic control device (FTOTCD) near E. Watkins Street and S. Junction Avenue. He was reminded to contact his probation officer Tuesday morning. *A driver in a black Toyota pickup truck was warned for no license plate and driving with a suspended license (DWS/V) near Caves Hwy. and Dogwood Lane at 12:34 p.m. *A father stated he had sole custody of twins for the past eight years, until June 16 when their mother took them from the front yard while he was in his back yard in the 100 block of Caves Hwy. The dad believes she took them to Washington, where she lives with her mother. The father was unable to provide court-ordered paperwork to a deputy, and was advised to have his attorney contact JCSO with the information. After a deputy talked with the mother’s family, it appeared that this might be a civil matter. *Everything was fine when a deputy talked with two people at 3:24 B ingo for p.m. in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. *At 4:14 p.m. a mother requested a welfare check because she had not spoken with her 3-year-old son in four days, and she is authorized by court order to talk with him every day. The boy’s dad was going to a Pow-Wow June 23, and should have returned June 25. She was concerned because his father lives at a marijuana grow site in the 1700 block of Happy Camp Road. By 4:41 p.m. both parents confirmed that they had communicated regarding their child. *A short gal with longer gray hair was warned for disorderly conduct at 4:49 p.m. near W. River Street and Hussey Avenue. She told a deputy that she wasn’t hitting vehicles, she was just heading to Jubilee Park. *A deputy was unable to locate an individual on Westside Road at 5:19 p.m. *JCSO assisted employees at Selma Rays in teaching Proper Parking 101 to a driver in a no-parking zone at 5:56 p.m. *At 6:02 p.m. a motorist in a Jeep Safari with New York license plates was warned for FTOTCD at 110 Deer Creek Road. Outside the Valley *Thirty-seven incidents. Tuesday, June 27 *An alarm was ringing at 10:27 a.m. in the 6100 block of Takilma Road. *A motorist in a gold-colored Camry was warned for no seatbelt and DWS/V in Kerby Market parking lot at 11:27 a.m. *A deputy checked on a gal parked near W. Palmer Street and N. Redwood Hwy. at 11:36 a.m. *The pastor of Valley Evangelical Free Church was advised of options regarding an abandoned vehicle in the 400 block of Laurel Road at 12:20 p.m. The owner might live near Patton Bar Road. *At 1:13 p.m. a deputy went to the 100 block of Patton Bar Road. *Oregon State Police (OSP) saw a clueless dude pointing a rifle at the road near Redwood Hwy. and Rockydale Road at 1:18 p.m. The home owner claimed his children were target practicing with a BB gun. They were lectured on gun safety and target shooting. *A gal believed her landlord removed a car from the 4600 block of Waldo Road without her permission on June 1 between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The owner of the vehicle was deceased, but she stored the car for 18 months. Her plan was to place a title lien to get ownership, then recover the car from the salvage yard. The dispute between landlord and tenant was a civil issue. *Two transients were rousted from their camp under East Forks bridge at 2:03 p.m. They were warned for trespassing on state property, and told to remove their items by the end of the day. *At 2:32 p.m. a deputy talked with a woman on the side of the road in the 3500 block of Rockydale Road. *Jubilee Park was patrolled at 2:54 p.m. *A black and red Honda side- by-side ATV and a Hardcastle trailer were listed as stolen out of Jackson County. They were seen in the 300 block of Pine Tree Way at 2:57 p.m., but by 4:05 p.m. the ATV disappeared. The trailer and tires from the side- by-side were recovered. There is a viable suspect, and a report was filed for unauthorized use of motor vehicle (UUMV). *A motorist in a purple Honda was warned for no operator’s license in the 500 block of Caves Hwy. at 3:25 p.m. *Law enforcement kept an eye on the 600 block of Frederick Court at 3:35 p.m. *Everything was fine in the 100 block of Caves Hwy. at 3:43 p.m. *A deputy provided community oriented policing (COP) service at 5:45 p.m. at 112 S. Redwood Hwy. Outside the Valley *Twenty-eight situations. Wednesday, June 28 *A fellow parked his vehicle at Cascade Auto in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. June 25 at 11 a.m. At 9 a.m. June 28, he noticed his pickup truck and toolbox had been broken into. Miscellaneous tools, paperwork, and a Maverick over and under 12- gauge shotgun were missing. *There was a lot of yelling and screaming heard in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. at 11:51 a.m. Things quieted down when a guy left in a green Mustang. There was no crime, just a verbal argument, but they were both advised of options. *At 1:36 p.m. a caller reported a motorist in an orange Toyota Prius that had been swerving into incoming traffic for eight miles. A driver who was disturbed by this behavior followed the Prius to Caves Hwy. and N. Old Stage Road, and there was a verbal altercation before law enforcement arrived. Both drivers were warned to avoid each other on the roadway. *A guy was pulled over near Kerby High Pines at 1:49 p.m. because he had a reputation for driving on a suspended license. However, he was just issued a valid driving status. He was cleared, but a deputy will investigate. *A deputy exchanged information with another agency at 2:23 p.m. in the 200 block of E. Watkins Street. *Jubilee Park was patrolled at 2:28 p.m. *A motorist in a green Durango was warned for speeding at 2:31 p.m. near Redwood Hwy. and Burch Drive. *Three characters were warned for trespassing on private property in the 400 block of N. Old Stage Road near Jubilee Park at 2:40 p.m. *On June 24, an older man driving a Land Rover was allegedly armed with an assault rifle and fired several shots into the ground. A gal spotted the Land Rover with front end damage near Bear Creek Road and Caves Hwy., and her boyfriend notified OSP. Law enforcement searched both areas, but could not locate the vehicle at 3:41 p.m. *Two unoccupied vehicles at the end of N. Old Stage Road were OK at 4:02 p.m. *A deputy gathered information at Speedy Mart at the intersection of W. Watkins Street and S. Redwood Hwy. at 4:04 p.m. *The operator of a green Honda Accord was cited for improper display and warned for failure to signal in the 800 block of N. Old Stage Road at 4:08 p.m. *At 4:22 p.m. a motorist was pulled over near W. Lister Street and S. Hussey Avenue. He was cited for DWS/V, and warned for defective equipment and failure to carry proof of insurance and registration. His switched plates were seized. *Another deputy stopped at Lister Street and Hussey Avenue at 4:46 p.m. *OSP notified JCSO of a driver in a white Ford Explorer who was tailgating, speeding, and unsafely passing other vehicles on Hwy. 199 near MP 11 at 4:49 p.m. *A gal ran out of a vehicle and into a bar when law enforcement arrived in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 4:49 p.m. *At 5:03 p.m. a deputy walked from Lurline to Dogwood Lane, and seized switched license plates. *A motorist in a dark-colored coupe was stopped near Redwood Hwy. and Hogue Drive at 6:19 p.m. A temporary registration tag was located on a dark-tinted window, and the driver was warned for failure to carry insurance. Outside the Valley *Eighteen entries. Thursday, June 29 *At 11:16 a.m. a 50ish gal, 5- 6,170, with long blonde or gray hair was dancing in traffic in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street. She was wearing a yellow sleeveless top, khaki capris, and tennis shoes, and she was flashing folks driving by. OSP was notified, as they had a trooper in the area. *The diva in a yellow top was dancing her way up Caves Hwy. at 11:33 a.m. This time she was described as 5-5, 140, and 60 years old with long, gray hair. (Warning: Flashing adds years to your life.) *An individual was warned for unregistered vehicle, and told to leave Six Mile Recreation Area at 2:43 p.m. *Store Gulch Campground was fine at 2:57 p.m. *A character was cited for parking in a well-marked, no-parking area near Swinging Bridge on FS Road 087 at 3:12 p.m. *Echo Beach Campground was quiet at 4:04 p.m. *A restraining order (RO) was served at 4:35 p.m. in the 500 block of Beebe Drive. *The river access on the west side of Eight Dollar Bridge was patrolled at 4:52 p.m. *A deputy made the rounds at Josephine Campground at 5:13 p.m. *The intended recipient of an RO was not available at 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Crest Drive. *The driver of a black pickup truck with no license plates was cited for unlawful use of an expired temporary permit. (Key word equals temporary.) He was pulled over at MP 2 on Illinois River Road at 5:39 p.m., and warned for failure to provide proof of insurance and not carrying an operator’s license.
